Gordon Haynes is a creative director who started a small, creative consultancy. The consultancy's philosophy is all about challenging convention. Encouraging its clients to do things differently so that they can rise above the white noise of everyday advertising. Heretic, as a name, is the perfect label for this philosophy. But it needed a visual representation that also captured that essence. The visual identity plays on the religious connotations of the name, upending the ‘t’ to form the Cross of St Peter – both a Christian symbol for humility and later a punk symbol for rebellion. This balance of respect and dissent sit at the heart of the way Heretic operates, always listening, always questioning.
