In a world premiere, WA Ballet are bringing Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’ to His Majesty’s Theatre. It is an intense neoclassical performance –  a story of a dark, forbidden passion. The bespoke Dracula wordmark and Stoker (the extended typeface) were developed to give a unique identity to the production across print, digital, outdoor and TV. Stoker, much like the ballet, is a contemporary take on a classic, taking elements from blackletter and introducing elements from the ballet. It was designed to balance the sweeping curves of a pirouette with the sharp points of a vampire’s fangs, and paired with the blood-soaked palette and graceful photography, the identity of the production becomes a marriage of elegance and foreboding.

'Dracula' won a Bronze Skull in Design Crafts: Best Typography at the 2018 PADC Skulls.
