Joseph Dennis wrote his bio in the first person.

Joseph is a Perth-based brand designer, typographer and illustrator. He wrote this bio in the third person.

Joseph Dennis is a Perth-based brand designer, creative and type designer. He is passionate, hard-working and always keen to learn new things, combining concept and craft to create energetic, vibrant and considered work. He graduated ‘Best in Show’ from Curtin University in 2015 (Creative Advertising and Graphic Design). He won the PADC Student Skull for Advertising and was part of the winning team at D&AD’s ‘Brief to Broadcast’ competition at the Glue Society, Sydney.

In 2016, he commenced his career at 303MullenLowe, learning quickly and enthusiastically applying himself to each project, gaining valuable experience working with the Art Gallery of WA, ECU, Transperth and WesternPower. He finished the year as the only WA winner of the international ‘The Design Kids Awards’ – making him the most awarded graduate in the WA industry for the year.

Moving to Meerkats at the end of 2016, Joseph’s skills developed rapidly in the new team, becoming a mid-weight designer after just a year. He also began learning motion design and developed his passion for type design, designing custom typefaces for Pride Sports Festival and WA Ballet’s productions of Dracula and The Nutcracker, with work awarded in craft, digital design and press categories. Joseph was named finalist Designer of the Year (PADC Diamond Skulls) for the last two years, despite being one of the youngest in the category.

Now working at Block Branding, he continues to push himself and his work, honing his skills in branding, art direction and motion design.
